Olympic kicks meet Kun Khmer power. Full-body striking for fighters, trained inside our High Performance sessions.
Kombat Taekwondo is where Olympic Taekwondo kicking meets Kun Khmer hands: punches, elbows and clinch work on top of a fast kicking base. It is a full-body striking discipline for serious practitioners and fighters, and the format behind the Kombat Taekwondo bouts on Kombat event cards.
Kombat Taekwondo is trained inside our High Performance sessions at the Kun Khmer Federation High Performance Center, headed by Lok Kru Nuon Bora, Kun Khmer National Team Coach and Kun Khmer Federation Master Coach. You train side by side with active professional fighters.
Expect high-intensity rounds, kick and punch combinations, clinch management, sparring for full-contact formats and ring-ready conditioning: power, endurance and explosiveness. Sparring is done in full protective gear and is always supervised, and you will not be put into full-contact rounds before you are ready.
Some martial arts experience is recommended. Students usually come in from our Teens & Adults Taekwondo class or from Kun Khmer once their coach says they are ready.
Please note: this class requires 6 oz Kombat gloves, hand wraps, head gear, foot protectors and a mouthguard. Gloves and hand wraps are on sale at the Pro Shop inside the academy.
